Houston Spanish Speaking Psychotherapists
Monica Altamirano, LPC
Psychotherapist
I am a bilingual psychotherapist who was born in Mexico City, and has been living in Texas since 1983. I have about 25 years of experience working with individuals and families.
I worked at two schools for children with emotional problems: The Harris School and The New School in the Heights. In these schools I learned to use a system that involves parents, teachers and the psychotherapist simultaneously to help the child improve his/her behavior both at home and at school. Presently I work part time at Saint Stephen’s a Montessori School and I have my private practice. I work with children, adolescents, families and individuals. In my years of practice I have been very interested in helping children with their emotional development, which improves their academic performance, social relationships and self-esteem.
